Koh-i-Noor: The 'cursed' diamond set into the Crown Jewels

Animated Documentary

2022

Script & Narration: Harriet Constable
Artistic Direction & Animation: Alice Bibette

Commissioning Editors: Harriet Constable, Daniel John

BBC journalist Harriet Constable approached us with the Koh-i-Noor story. We were instantly intrigued by the diamond's peculiar past: 105-carats, oval-shaped, and arguably, the world’s most famous diamond. Today, it’s set among 2,800 other stones in the Crown Jewels, but it hasn’t always been there.

Moreover, the graphic challenge was interesting: little footage material was available (stock images and a zoom recording). In order to dynamise the narrative, we choose to create a dynamic timeline system. This way, the audience will be taken in and out scenes, time travelling to the Koh-i-Noor's key dates.
